Hosted by the Church of Archangel Michael and St. Mena in the Diocese of New York and New England, the Church Hymns Competition is an annual event held on the first Saturday of October that brings together hundreds of children in fellowship through singing the ancient hymns of the Coptic Orthodox Church. Participants sing hymns in various languages, including Coptic and English, with judges evaluating their performances based on melody, harmony, and overall presentation. The competition reflects the church’s dedication to preserving these ancient hymns of the Coptic Orthodox Church and provides an opportunity to unite in a joyous celebration of faith and music. The church will announce when the service is in action.
